Satin Plus UV builds upon the technological innovations provided by the Satin Plus coating. The Enhanced Scratch Guard Technology of Satin coatings has excellent adhesive properties, which makes the coating hard and provides unparalleled scratch resistance when applied to the surface of the lens. The coating is flexible and created using ionic bonding to help prevent cracking and peeling of the coating. Satin coatings are an excellent enhancement to lenses that are subject to the challenges of daily life.

With an ordinary AR coated lens, coating cracks can appear due to the coating breaking down, and the molecules splitting apart from their bonds when subjected to external pressure.

Anti-reflection coatings applied to clear lenses prevent the reflection of light falling in the visible spectrum. Ultraviolet light rays are invisible to the naked eye, and fall between 290 and 400nm on the electromagnetic spectrum. These light rays are not normally filtered by hard coat lenses, and are not always filtered by anti-reflection coatings.Sunlight falls to the surface of the lens from all different angles, meaning that is is important to select a coating with good protection from UV to help maintain the eye health of the wearer. Satin Plus UV is an advanced coating that provides enhanced protection from harmful UV light across both the front and back surface of the lens. The coating provides exceptionally clear vision with a transmission rate of 99%. The coating applied to the rear surface of the lens provides protection from UV by stopping the rays reflecting from the back surface of the lens into the eye.

Satin Plus UV provides optimum protection from UV radiation from both, front and back side of the lens surface, ensuring 10 times more UV protection compared with the naked eye whilst allowing only the beneficial light to pass through. This coating is a great choice for spectacle wearers who spend a lot of time outdoors. UV rays are still a hazard to eye health in cloudy conditions, so it is important to have the best protection from UV in spectacles that are worn every day. Satin Plus UV is formulated to be flexible, helping to prevent cracking and peeling. The coating formula also features an enhancement to the anti-scratch layer giving improved durability compared to lower quality anti-reflective coatings.

Satin Plus UV comes with a unique anti-reflection property with a transmission rate of 99%.This multi-layered coating is applied to both sides of the lens eliminating spots and ghost images. Satin coatings are a perfect lens enhancement for everyday use, reducing glare and enhancing clarity in all scenarios. The anti-reflection properties of Satin coatings also improve the aesthetics of the lenses, as well as the visual clarity and comfort for the wearer. Anti reflective coatings are especially recommended for use with polycarbonate and high index lenses, as the material properties can cause more reflections than regular plastic lenses.
